On September 5, 2025, Bridge Records released our second album, Passages, featuring more premiere recordings of French compositions from Franchomme’s era up to the present day. You’ll find cello duos by Franchomme, Fauré and living composer Philippe Hersant, that I recorded with Julia Bruskin (who also played on The Franchomme Album with me). Passages also includes a gorgeous but unknown sonata for cello and piano by Charles Koechlin, the well-loved sonata by Debussy, and shorter pieces by Chopin, Franchomme and Poulenc which I present with pianist Spencer Myer. Watch some of our session takes here! Our producer is again the multiple Grammy-award winning Steve Epstein, who shares engineering credits this time with Judith Sherman, another multiple Grammy-award winner.
The Franchomme and Chopin works included are recorded here for the first time ever, and the music is found in my Dover publication Selected Works for Cello and Piano by Auguste Franchomme (which also contains original French editions for music on The Franchomme Project).
CDs and digital copies of Passages available at our shop, where 100% of proceeds go to support the artists! Copies of Passages will also be available at our release concerts — New York City on 10/25, 7 pm and Yonkers, NY on 10/26 at 3pm, featuring Louise Dubin, Julia Bruskin, John Novacek, Dena Levine and Philippe Muller.
